How Get Rid of Under Eye Wrinkles?
Under Eye Wrinkles or bags are unsightly and annoying. They appear under the eyes and can cause dark circles. The problem is that there is no cure for this condition. However, there are home remedies that can help get rid of these unsightly bags.
What causes under-eye wrinkles?
The skin around your eyes is thinner than the rest of your face and it’s more prone to wrinkling because there are fewer blood vessels that feed it with oxygenated blood flow. This makes it susceptible to damage from sun damage or other environmental factors like windy days. The result can be fine lines and crow’s feet. These lines start as small creases in the skin but over time they become deeper and darker.
How do you know if you have under-eye wrinkles?
If you notice any changes in the appearance of your under-eyes then you should see a dermatologist who will perform an examination. You may also want to ask your doctor about using some natural treatments at home.

UV radiation
You need to protect yourself against the damaging effects of sunlight by wearing sunglasses when outdoors. If you don’t wear sunscreen every day, use one with SPF 15 or higher on exposed areas such as your nose, forehead, cheeks, chin, ears, hands, arms, legs, back, chest, shoulders, neck, scalp, and top of the head.
Apply sunscreen 30 minutes before going outside so it has enough time to absorb into your skin. Reapply after swimming or sweating.
Use a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection formula that protects both UVA rays and UVB rays.
Look for products labeled “broad spectrum” or “full spectrum.” Don’t forget to apply makeup primer underneath the foundation to keep it looking smooth all day long.
Start Using Retinol
Retinoids like retinaldehyde help stimulate new cell growth and reduce inflammation. “It helps keep your skin looking young,” says Dr. Talakoub. The best way to use it is once per week on dry areas such as around the nose and mouth. If you want to try using it daily, start out slowly — only apply it twice a day for three weeks before increasing it to four times a day.
Moisturize Your Under-Eye Area
“The best way to treat under eye deep wrinkles is through hydration,” explains Talakoub. “Hydrate the area daily with a rich cream such as Lanari Hydrating Cream SPF 15 which contains shea butter, avocado extract, and Vitamin E. This helps keep the skin soft and supple while providing long-lasting moisture.” If you want something lighter, try this Neutrogena Ultra Lightweight Face Lotion SPF 30, which has been clinically proven to moisturize without clogging pores.
Exfoliate
To remove dead skin cells and improve circulation, exfoliate regularly. Try using a gentle scrub made specifically for sensitive skin. It’s important not to rub too hard since you’ll end up removing healthy layers of skin along with those pesky dead zones. Instead, gently massage the product onto your skin until it feels slightly rough. Rinse off thoroughly with warm water.
Repetitive movements and expressions
If you have repetitive motions or expressions such as smiling all day long, this could lead to premature wrinkling. Mayo Clinic says that if you’re constantly frowning, for example, you’ll develop deeper creases between your eyebrows.
Treat your allergies
Allergies affect many parts of your body, including your nose, throat, lungs, sinuses, ears, mouth, and even your skin. Allergic reactions can lead to inflammation, which causes redness or swelling. This type of reaction often results in dry, flaky patches on your skin. These areas tend to look rough and scaly.
If you’re suffering from seasonal allergy symptoms such as hay fever, try using antihistamines when they become active again.
Get Enough Sleep
Sleep plays a big role in keeping our bodies youthful. When we’re well-rested, our body produces fewer stress hormones and releases more melatonin, which keeps us calm and relaxed. Lack of sleep causes increased levels of cortisol, which leads to premature aging. So make sure you get seven hours of shut-eye each night!
Eat Right
Eating right goes hand in hand with sleeping right. A healthy diet high in antioxidants can boost collagen production and fight free radicals. Foods containing these nutrients include berries, dark leafy greens, broccoli, carrots, tomatoes, red wine, nuts, seeds, fish, poultry, eggs, beans, lentils, whole grains, and olive oil.
Natural Home Treatments For Under Eyes:
There are several ways to treat under-eye bags. Some people use creams while others prefer using natural remedies. In this article, I am going to discuss some of the most effective home remedies for treating under-eye bags. These methods will not only make your skin health look better but also improve its health.
1) Lemon Juice: This remedy works best when you have a dull complexion or if you want to brighten up your face. You need to mix lemon juice with honey in equal amounts. Apply it on your under-eye area twice daily. It should be applied before bedtime so as to avoid any irritation caused by sunlight during daytime hours.
2) Aloe Vera Gel: If you don’t like applying cream over your eye area then try aloe vera gel instead. Mix one part aloe vera gel with two parts water. Use this mixture to cleanse your under-eyes once every day.
3) Egg Whites: Eggs contain proteins that nourish our body tissues. Therefore, they are very useful in improving the appearance of wrinkles.
To apply egg whites, take three eggs and separate them into yolks and white portions. Now add 1/2 cup milk to the yolk portion and whisk well until frothy. Add another half cup of milk to the white portion and beat again till smooth. Finally, strain out the foam from both mixtures separately. Dip cotton balls into each solution and place them gently around your under-eye areas. Leave it overnight and wash it off the next morning. Repeat this process thrice weekly.
4) Honey: Another good way to reduce under-eye bags is to rub honey onto your under-eye areas at night time. Make sure that you do not put too much pressure on your eyes because excessive rubbing may lead to damage.
5) Tea Tree Oil: Tea tree oil has been used since ancient times to fight infections and heal wounds. Its antibacterial properties work great against bacteria responsible for causing acne. So, tea tree oil helps prevent pimples and blackheads.
Can Botox or Fillers Get Rid Of Under Eye Wrinkles?
If any of the above tips don’t cut it for you, trying botox or fillers would be the next step for success when figuring out how to get rid of lines under your eyes.
A botox or filler procedure is where injections will be given to the facial area, reducing the number of wrinkles shown.
So How Does Botox Work?
By paralyzing the muscles in the face, wrinkles caused by facial expressions or other facial muscle movements are minimized.
How Do Fillers Work?
Over time, parts of the eye skin on your face start to thin out, causing wrinkles around the lip, eye, and cheek areas. Fillers add volume to the thin skin areas, minimizing the appearance of wrinkles. However, this procedure does not stop wrinkles from appearing in the future.
Although many people around the world use botox and dermal filler treatments to solve their wrinkle problems, they aren’t the cheapest and can come with side effects. Along with these problems, they do not solve the problem forever. Botox lasts for around 4 months, and filler lasts for around 18 months before wrinkles start to appear again.
Topicals
Unless your trusty eye cream is packed with one of the following ingredients, toss it out and find a moisturizer or serum (which, fun fact, is essentially the exact same thing as an eye cream, but in a bigger jar) specifically formulated with either:
Derms love vitamin C, and for a good reason: The little antioxidant “softens rough patches, shields your skin from damage, and fades acne scars and dark marks,” says Dr. Gohara, a dermatologist based in Hamden, Connecticut. Vitamin C is potent but effective, it helps prevent fine lines while smoothing the ones you’ve got by stimulating your production of collagen.
Microneedling
derma rolling involves puncturing tiny holes into your skin with a needle-covered roller to stimulate collagen production. “You’re essentially damaging your skin to create newer, younger skin,” says Dr. Gohara.

“It sounds barbaric, but it’s the most effective way we currently have to treat fine lines and wrinkles fast.” And don’t worry the procedure is fast and only moderately irritating, despite how it sounds.
The cons: It takes 4-6 weeks of once-weekly treatments to see some brightening and smoothing results, but even longer for fine-line reduction. It’s also too harsh for most sensitive skin types, like those with rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, or any type of inflammatory condition.
Lasers
And now for the laser portion of our wrinkle treatments: Fraxel. Fraxel (which is a brand name for a whole class of laser treatments used to resurface your skin) is magical, face-changing, and pretty freaking painful (basically like a hot rubber band snapping your face over and over again).

“Resurfacing lasers use heat energy to create trauma within your skin that leads to new collagen,” says Dr. Gohara. In case you haven’t noticed, most anti-aging treatments just damage your skin to make it “better.” Yay for technology!
As you’d expect with, you know, shooting lasers into your face, there are some downsides: Your skin will look and feel badly sunburned for a few days and then have a sandpapery texture for a week or two.
Exercise To Reduce Lines Around Eyes
Another great tip to reduce lines under the eyes is exercise. Exercise helps us stay fit and active throughout our lives. It improves circulation and keeps muscles toned and strong. When exercising regularly, will help prevent the formation of wrinkles around the eyes. Try doing some simple exercises such as walking briskly for 10 minutes a few days per week. This will keep your heart rate up while burning calories. You could also go swimming if you have access to a pool. Swimming works all major muscle groups including those surrounding your eyes.
You should always consult your doctor first before starting an exercise routine. They’ll check your health history and make sure there’s no underlying medical condition that might cause harm during physical activity.
